Election Day

Hello,

Today I woke up to the American National Anthem :p
Yes! Obama won and I was able to catch the last 10 minutes of his acceptance speech at 7am.
I am very proud that I also read other news - usually I stay away from the news - I have a dilemma - I want to know and be informed and be able to form an intelligent opinion, BUT it's really depressing to follow the news every day. I cannot imagine every morning starting my day with bad news. I always thought there should also be "POSITIVE NEWS" or "CONSTRUCTIVE NEWS" or "ALL ENCOMPASSING NEWS" not sure how to call it, but it would include discoveries in science and medicine, great new books published, music and the arts. Also it would have great/significant positive events! Why not?

After Ulpan, intensive (some say) Hebrew class from 8:15-12:45 I packed lunch and set off to the beach with my homework.... after a few minutes on my bike it occurred to me that I always go that way to the same place and I wanted to push or challenge myself or be adventurous so I turned around and went up instead toward Stella Maris Church and Monastery... I was really excited riding up, it was a way not traveled before (on bike :) I then got curious with another road and turned that way.... I was feeling my way through the roads and intersections... slowing down trying to feel which way to go (and sometimes to check the map :). It proved to be very cool! I saw a sculpture of a cat on my 1st turn:
You can see his/her tail, curved back and head peaking out of the tree. Another turn led me to the Sculpture Garden with "Spectacular views of Haifa Bay... and 29 bronze sculptures by the artist Ursula Malbin" according to Haifa Tourist Board Map :)
Here's some pics:

Other things I saw: a building with a bridge going to the front door and a view of Haifa from an observatory on Stella Maris Rd.
